Thirty years ago my life forked and I embarked on a path I had not foreseen. After a youth directed at an academic career, first in science, then in the humanities, I chose art as my life's work. I chose to use my head, heart, and hands to make sculpture that did not represent 'realistic' subjects, but instead presented new objects with a subjective presence.
I work in Italian and Portuguese marble and American alabaster. Each piece is unique, carved by me from one block of stone, using a variety of hand, electric, and pneumatic tools. The sculptures range from 5 to 40 inches in height, from a few pounds to more than 200 pounds.
